Baiano was born in Naples, Italy in 1962. In 1990 he moved
to Turin where he begun to work professionally
photographing music and musicians, taking assignements
from the concerts organizers. However, reportage
is the main interest in his work, because "it allows
me to explore and to reveal worlds and contexts different from
ones I know."
attended courses with David H. Harvey, Kent Kobersteen, Tomasz
and Alexandra Boulat.
He shot in different countries, from Europe, to Oceania and South
America. In 2001 he begun the project "Roots" on the Afro-Caribbean
religions which took him to photograph Santeria in Cuba and Candomblé
in Brazil; Roots will be completed with the exploration
of the Haitian Vodoo and the African origins of these religions.
